The HSCI is having a Spay/Neuter Clinic for Cats/Kittens only on Monday, January 18. Appointments are required and space is limited. At the time of drop off a surgery consent form will be provided and must be signed by the pet owner. Cats will be transported to an offsite vet or spay/neuter clinic. Kittens must be at least eight weeks of age and two pounds to receive surgery. The Spay/Neuter Clinic fee varies. Details

Puppies must be at least eight weeks of age to receive surgery. Puppies under 12 weeks of age will not receive a rabies vaccination. Dogs on medication or showing signs of respiratory infections will not be considered for surgery. Dogs will be transported to and from Animal Protective League (APL) in Springfield for spay / neuter. In recognition of April as Prevention of Animal Cruelty Month, the ASPCA works with shelters and educators across the country to raise awareness about animal abuse. Did you know that you as an individual can help crack down on cruelty in your community, too? When a concerned citizen reports the abuse of an animal to the proper authorities, he or she is not only helping that particular animal, but a message is being sent that all acts of animal abuse should be taken seriously.
