Angel and Friend
Starving to death in a mobile home in McLean County, Angel was rescued by investigators of
the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
The young pit bull terrier was too weak to walk and had to be carried from the trailer for
transportation to a local veterinarian. Angel was so flea-infested that the water turned red
with blood as staff bathed her emaciated body.

Angel was one of the lucky ones. She now enjoys life with a loving family and has regained her normal weight. |
| Unfortunately, not all cases have such a happy ending. Angel's canine companion died an agonizing death by starvation. |
