Diet
Cavies like fresh vegetables, timothy hay, and plenty of fresh cold water. They also need vitamin C supplements as they cannot manufacture their own.
Grooming
Guinea pigs need daily combing, monthly toenail clipping, and occasional bathing with a mild shampoo.
Housing
Minimum housing space is 7 square feet for one cavy. The cage should be located in a bright, airy spot close to family activities but out of direct sunlight. Paper products are the best choice for bedding material and should be layered 1" to 2" in the bottom of the cage.
