Layla
Last February I came to the Humane Society of Central Illinois to visit the animals and look at the
kittens. I had originally been searching for an orange kitten but when I entered the kitten room I
saw a brother and sister 3 month old black and white kittens. One of the employees or volunteers
encouraged me to play with them both in a viewing room so I did.
The little boy ran around like a crazy cat and I decided that he was just too rambunctious for our
two adult male cats and our two male dogs (all adopted). I turned around and I couldn't find the
little girl, but the door was closed so I knew she was somewhere in the viewing room. I found her
sleeping in my purse and she looked up at me yawned and went back to sleep as if to say "is it time
to go home yet?" I fell in love at that moment and life with Layla is interesting. She is very smart
and has been taught to fetch. She is also very social with people and our other animals. And, she
has a whole lot of personality and sometimes attitude for such a small cat. She only weighs about
7lbs now and I couldn't picture life with our furry family complete without her. Thank you so much
HSCI!
P.S. She still likes sleeping in my purses.
