Chewy & Hop Sing
Hello everyone,
We just wanted to check in and say hi! It has been a while since we have been in to visit since
we moved away from the central Illinois area. I wanted to send some recent pictures of the children
I adopted from you.
We want to share with you what has been going on in our lives. Chewy (Stevie) and Hop Sing are doing
wonderful, they are not the same little scared boys that we adopted. They were a part of a rescue,
where they were locked in a filthy basement with a lack of human socialization. They both were
scared and leery with people. It took a lot of love and time, but have become two of the greatest
gifts. They both demand lots of human attention now, and get it. They are everywhere you go
wanting to play.
Hop Sing had some major health issues, most of which he has overcome. He has the energy of a
puppy now. Just wanted to share with everyone, that you can make a difference when adopting a mature
dog. These two little boys are living proof, that every animal deserves a second chance for
happiness. Take Care!

Staff Note:
Some of our pets come to us by way of an investigation in which their experiences affect them greatly. In the year they were with HSCI, a volunteer worked exclusively with them to gain their trust. They had many milestones --- seeing the sunshine, walking on grass, and being petted. Those achievements may seem minor to another dog but required much time and trust in their case. |
