Cleo
Hello HSCI --- Cleo the Basset Hound here,
I just wanted to drop a note to say that in February 2007 I celebrated my 1-year Anniversary in my
forever home. Bet you never thought that would happen. I have to tell you this is one GREAT place
for a fur-kid to live. My new Mommy, Daddy, 2-legged big brother and 4-legged big sister Tabby have
welcomed me with open arms. Unfortunately I had a little bit of sad times recently, when I lost
my 4-legged big brother Elliott in January. Mommy and Daddy really miss him but they say having the
"Round" Hound with them sure helps. They tell me I am the happiest Basset in the morning.
See my life did not start out all the great. I was 18 months old when my family adopted me, spent
over half of that time in and out of homes/shelters (4 different families). I am sure HSCI can agree
that I presented them with some very unique challenges during my stay with them.
I also have had the opportunity to do some major socialization. I have attended several Community
Sales, the Dog Park, lots of doggie washes to benefit HSCI, the Alumni Days for HSCI, Camping. Had
a sleep over with my friend Bailey, another HSCI Alumni. But, the best thing I did in the summer
was attend the Basset Hound Waddle in Dwight and raised $100.00 to help homeless bassets.
Needless to say my new family really thinks I am sweetie and have assured me I am not going anywhere
for a long time. My daddy says I’m a real snuggle bug and makes him over sleep every morning. My
2-legged brother is really awesome and I get so excited to see him.
I just want to say "THANKS" for having the patience and taking time with me and making sure I found
my forever home. LIFE IS GREAT, for Cleo the Basset Hound, and I have to say I am very well
balanced and LOVE my new family and home.
Sincerely,
Cleo and the rest of the Family |
