Daisy, Isabelle & Miss Scarlett One Saturday morning in July 2003 I opened the Pantagraph and saw a full page of sweet, furry faces looking longingly into mine. Already a dog owner, I thought life was busy enough. But Daisy's winsome, coy look caught my heart. I called our vet and asked him if he thought a rabbit would fit into a household with a hunting dog. He said our dog was sweet and agreeable-and go for it!  Next we had to convince the family dad, who loves to indulge us. So off we went to meet, then adopt Our Daisy. She has increased her weight by 50% and is a sweet and highly companionable pet. Quiet and low care, we can't imagine life without her.

Update: Five years after her adoption, Daisy is still thriving and entertaining family and guests alike. Sadly, we lost Isabella to cancer in the fall of 2006. But in December 2006 we adopted Miss Scarlett, whose sweet, gentle and loving nature endears her to all. We are so thankful for the HSCI!
