Setting 800 x 600 Screen Resolution

The following procedure can be used to set your screen resolution to 800 x 600 if you are using Windows XP. The procedure varies if you are using an older version of Windows, or a special graphics card. The procedure for setting the screen resolution is different for MAC users.

Note: This procedure is provided as a general outline of a typical procedure for changing screen resolution, however, HSCI does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of this procedure.

1. Select the Start button on the Windows taskbar.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Double-click on the Display icon to display the Display Properties window.
4. Select the Settings tab.
5. Set the Screen resolution setting to 800 by 600 pixels if the setting is available.
6. Set the Color quality setting to a value greater than 256 Colors if a higher setting is available.
7. Select the Apply button.
8. If prompted to keep this setting, select the Yes button.
9. Select the OK button on the Display Properties window.
10. Close the Control Panel window.
11. Relocate any icons on the Windows desktop that may have been shifted by the settings change.
Note: You may be prompted to reboot your computer in order for the new settings to take effect.
