Frequently Asked Questions - (and Answers)
I am under 16 and too young to volunteer. Is there a way I can help?
We would love to have your help. When you turn 16 we encourage you to register for a New Volunteer Class. We depend heavily on volunteers and will be glad to have your help. In the meantime, there are a number of ways you can help HSCI:
- If you know someone wanting to add a pet to their life, suggest they visit us. They can adopt and save a life. Encourage them to visit our Pet Adoption Center to meet our wonderful pets available.
- If you know people with pets, ask if they are spay/neutered. If not, encourage them to do so. Spay/neuter is the only long-term solution to pet overpopulation.
- Visit our website regularly and see what events we have coming up. You may not be able to volunteer but you can certainly participate with or without your pet (i.e. Santa Paws, dog washes, fall/spring sales, etc)
- If you are part of a group in school, church, 4-H, etc, encourage them to do something with HSCI. There are ideas on our website under Volunteer Opportunities and Service Projects. Your group may also want to consider a Pet Sponsorship or conducting a supply drive.
