Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers)
I have a child that wants to volunteer. What do I do?
Children certainly love animals and we appreciate their supporting our cause. However, if the
child is under 16 years of age, they must be accompanied by a parent at all times while
volunteering at the Pet Adoption Center. This is to ensure the safety of the child and
animals in our care.
Dogs may be designated for "Adults Only". They may be strong and require a larger and
experienced dog walker to handle. As can be expected, pets new to our facility can be
frightened of the noises, other animals, and people. Parents can provide a calming influence
to both the child and the pet.
We have minimal staff on duty and they cannot be responsible for supervising children.
Volunteerism is a great value to teach children and volunteering can be a great family
activity.
