The "Dog Days" of Summer came to Normal! You've heard of the "Dog Days of Summer", but this year we had a dog day at the Fairview Family Aquatic Center. All dogs were invited to come take a dip in one of the area's most popular summer swimming holes. Prior to the "doggie dip", chlorine was removed from the pool to make it more comfortable for the pooch's skin. Because of the lack of chlorine, only dogs were allowed to swim. Money collected from this event was donated to the Humane Society of Central Illinois. This event was sponsored by the Normal Parks and Recreation Department.
The "Dog Days" of Summer was a fun time for all, especially for the dogs. Many people brought their dogs out for a swim. This event is a great opportunity for dogs to do something they don't get a chance to do very often, swim in a huge swimming pool! It was a very nice day.
Let's get the introductions out of the way.
The dog in the pool has a tennis ball.
My turn!
